Christian Illies

Christian Illies (* 1963 in Kiel ) is a German philosopher and university professor . He is the son of Joachim Illies and the brother of Florian Illies .

Illies studied biology, art history and philosophy at the University of Konstanz from 1982 to 1989 . In 1995 he received his doctorate from Oxford University and in 2002 he completed his habilitation at RWTH Aachen University . From 2006 to 2008 Illies was Professor of Philosophy at the TU Delft , and since 2008 he has been Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bamberg . He mainly works on topics of practical philosophy and architectural philosophy .
