Christian Jacq (born April 28, 1947 near Paris ) is a French writer and Egyptologist .

He studied and obtained his doctorate in Egyptology from the Sorbonne University in Paris . He was awarded by the Académie française for his scientific work and numerous publications . Christian Jacq wrote several historical novels (including about Ramses II ) that received great international attention. In addition, other popular science books on Egyptology have been published by him. The Sorbonne University awarded him a doctorate. He founded an institute that takes care of the registration and conservation of endangered monuments on the Nile and named it after his favorite historical figure: Institut Ramsès .
