Christian Liedtke (literary scholar)

Christian Liedtke (* 1964 in Hamburg ) is a German German scholar and archivist at the Heinrich Heine Institute in Düsseldorf .

Liedtke studied German and philosophy at the universities in Hamburg, Cincinnati (USA), Cologne and Bonn. He taught at the German Department of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn as a research assistant from 1991–1998 and as a lecturer from 1998–2001. As a research assistant at the Heinrich Heine Institute, he worked on the online edition and the digital information system Heinrich Heine portal from 2002 to 2008 . Since 2008 he has been responsible at the Heinrich Heine Institute for the archive with the Heine collection, the collections on Robert Schumann and the general autograph collection, as well as for editing the Heine yearbook .

As an author and co-author, Liedtke has published several monographs and numerous essays on Heine. In 2019 he held the Max Kade Professorship at the University of Cincinnati .
