Family coat of arms

Christian Peintner d. Ä. (* around 1603 in Rodeneck ; † 1686 in Niedervintl ) was a wealthy Tyrolean innkeeper and lawyer. He was the ancestor of several families of knights.

Life

He was the son of Andreas Peintner, who, together with his brother Augustin and his cousins Peter and Bartholomäus, received a noble coat of arms and a jewel from Archduke Maximilian of Austria on November 4, 1609 in Innsbruck. Associated with this was the ability to be in fief. The coat of arms referred to the so-called "Hirschenhof", formerly "Mändlgut", in Vill, which his father Andreas Peintner had acquired around 1600.

After his father's death in March 1628, he took over the business in Vill. In 1634 he bought the so-called "Tagehof", later the "Postgasthof", in Niedervintl. In the next few years he continued to expand economically, so in 1635 he acquired the building rights for the "Reintal" estate on the Ahrenberg. Around 1645 he was also the owner of the "Bacherhof" on the Fröllerberg and the "Schenkenweinhof" on the Ahrenberg. On December 16, 1642 he donated an eternal mass every year in March "to help and comfort his deceased father Andre Peintner on Rodenegg and his relatives". He gave the parish church of Rodeneck 100 florins for this. He sealed the corresponding document himself. On December 16, 1646, he was named, among other things, as an assessor of the church propriety.

In 1649 he left the inn to his possibly eldest son Jakob Peintner and moved himself to Niedervintl, where he is mentioned as a lawyer and "host". In the 1650s he campaigned for the establishment of a curate there. He also worked as a builder, so he provided the reason for the new construction of the Widum in Vill. For his grave he donated 100 florins for an anniversary with a placebo and a charity donation. His gravestone at the old parish church in Niedervintl bears the following inscription under the family coat of arms: "In 1686, Christian Peintner died, court attorney and host An der Prukhen, whose age was 83 years. God Genad the places."

The grave inscription of his son Christian Peintner the Elder. J., who was ennobled in 1707 with the predicate "von Trojensbach", is below. One of his grandchildren was Jakob Peintner the Elder. J., since 1677 government secretary in Innsbruck, who was also ennobled with the title "von Peintner".
