Christian Schweigaard Stang (born March 15, 1900 in Oslo ; † July 2, 1977 ) was a Norwegian linguist and professor of Slavic languages from 1938 until his death. He is known for his studies of the Lithuanian language and is very respected in Lithuania . His main work was Comparative Grammar of the Baltic Languages (1966). He was the son of the Norwegian lawyer, MP and Justice Minister Fredrik Stang the Younger and Caroline Schweigaard (daughter of State Minister Christian Homann Schweigaard ).
