Christian Sorrel

Christian Sorrel (born August 27, 1957 ) is a French historian .

Life

Under the supervision of Gérard Cholvy , he prepared a doctoral thesis, which he completed on February 5, 1994 at the Université Paul-Valéry-Montpellier in front of a jury made up of Pierre Barral , Nadine-Josette Chaline , Jean-Dominique Durand , Yves-Marie Hilaire and André Palluel-Guillard defended. In 1997 he was accepted into the Académie des sciences, belles-lettres et arts de Savoie . In 2000 he received his habilitation before a jury made up of Gérard Cholvy, Étienne Fouilloux , Jean-Marie Mayeur , Jacques Prévotat and Francis Python . He has been a professor at the Université Lyon 2 since 2006 .

His research interests are contemporary religious history and the history of Savoy.
