Christian Vollmann

Christian Vollmann (* 1977 in Erlangen ) is a German entrepreneur and business angel . So far he has been involved in more than 70 company start-ups, including the dating portals iLove and eDarling and the video platform MyVideo . In 2014 Christian Vollmann founded the social network next door.de and is currently managing director of the operating company Good Hood GmbH. He is a member of the Young Digital Economy Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy .

Life

Family and origin

Christian Vollmann lives in Berlin with his wife and their three children. Together with his parents and his brother Michael, he grew up in the village of Dormitz in the Forchheim district.

education

After graduating from the Emil-von-Behring-Gymnasium in Spardorf, Christian Vollmann completed his studies at the private business school WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management as a business graduate.

Career

During his studies, Vollmann began to work in the internet industry, including for Alando, a company owned by the Samwer brothers and the forerunner of eBay Germany. After successfully founding the dating platforms iLove and eDarling and the video platform myVideo , Vollmann earned enough money by selling the company to be able to act as a venture capitalist and business angel himself. Today Vollmann is involved in over 70 company start-ups, including StudiVZ , Researchgate , Trivago and Code University.

In 2014, Vollmann and five other people, including his brother Michael Vollmann and Till Behnke, founded the social network next door.de. Christian Vollmann runs the social enterprise together with Till Behnke.

The Business Angels Network Germany eV recognized Christian Vollmann as Business Angel of the Year 2017 .

The Nebenan.de Foundation, which is part of the social network Nebenan.de, is committed to strengthening neighborhood cohesion and awards the German Neighborhood Prize endowed with 50,000 euros. Christian Vollmann also supports the Ashoka non-profit organization and is a member of Ashoka's support network. Christian Vollmann is an honorary board member in the Federal Association of German Startups and an honorary advisory board member of the Young Digital Economy committee , which advises the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy . Vollmann has been an honorary member of the high-tech specialist forum since 2015, which accompanies the federal government in its high-tech strategy . Vollmann is also active as a party member in the economic forum of the Free Democratic Party .
