The Picard River is one of the longer rivers on the west coast of Dominica . It runs in Parish St. John and flows into Prince Rupert Bay (Portsmouth Bay) in the Caribbean Sea .

The Picard River rises at about 900 m above sea ​​level ( ) on the northern slope of the Morne Diablotin , on the border to the parishes of Saint Peter (Dominica) and Saint Andrew (Dominica) . Its headwaters lies in the southern tip of the Parishes St. John. The source streams run in a north-westerly direction and along the northern edge of the ridge of the Dyer Estate and Morne Plaissance Estate . In the Deux Branches area , it receives a flow of streams from the right and north of the slopes of Morne Turner ( ). Then it descends in a narrow and deep valley to the coast. From Ross Castle Estate it receives another swarm of small tributaries from the right and north and also from Constant Spring Estate to the south. He passes the Morne Balvine ( ), where the Grande Ravine flows in from the right and north . Then it crosses the narrow settlement area of ​​the coast between the settlements of Picard and Glanvilia of Portsmouth and flows after a course of 9 km into the Caribbean Sea.
