Christianae reipublicae is the title of an encyclical of Pope Clement XIII addressed to the metropolitans and bishops . It was published on November 25, 1766 and is subtitled On the Dangers of Anti-Christian Scriptures .

In his encyclical on the Christian community and the dangers of anti-Christian writings for this community, Clemens XIII. the editors of such writings as pestilence and compared them to snakes that let their poison trickle into the chalice of Babel. They denied God, who reveals himself everywhere and appears to them every day, not out of dullness of spirit, but out of sheer depravity. The careless soul is seduced by sweet speech and therefore does not recognize the poison that kills it.

Clement XIII. finally called on the bishops to fight against it with all their might. Many bishops have already shown themselves to be zealous and vigilant and not allow ordinary people to lie down quietly in the presence of snakes.
