Christiane Hohmann

Christiane Constanze Hohmann (born September 10, 1964 in Potsdam ) is a German diplomat who has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Estonia since 2019 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983, Christiane Hohmann began studying English and French as a language mediator in Berlin , which she completed in 1988. From 1988 to 1991 she was a research student for English literature at the Humboldt University in Berlin and then completed the preparatory service for the higher foreign service between 1991 and 1993. After graduation it was first used in the Foreign Office in Berlin and from 1994 to 1997 at the Embassy in the United States . She then worked again in the Foreign Office between 1997 and 2000 and was permanent representative of the Ambassador to Cameroon from 2000 to 2003 .

After being used again between 2003 and 2005 at the Foreign Office, she was an exchange officer at the European Commission in Brussels from 2005 to 2010 . She then worked again at the embassy in the USA between 2010 and 2013 and, after her return, headed a department at the Foreign Office from 2013 to 2016.

In 2016 Christiane Hohmann replaced Christian Hellbach as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina . In July 2019 she moved to the German Embassy in Tallinn / Estonia .
