Christiane Kruse (art historian, 1961)

Christiane Kruse (* 1961 in Walsrode ) is a German art historian and university professor at the Muthesius Art College in Kiel in the fields of art history and visual cultures.

Life

She studied art history, modern German literature and medieval studies at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in Florence. Kruse did her doctorate in 1994 at the LMU Munich with her dissertation "The Dutch in the second generation"

As a freelance art historian, she worked in the exhibition organization at Haus der Kunst in Munich , as a lecturer at Wienand Verlag, Cologne , as a freelancer for the Süddeutsche Zeitung in the section "Exhibition and conference book reviews" and at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

From 1996 to 2002 she was a research assistant at the University of Konstanz in the field of “Literature and Anthropology” and in 2002 she completed her habilitation there in the humanities section.

Since 2011 she has been Professor of Art History and Visual Cultures at the Muthesius Art College, Kiel
