Christiane Scharf

Christiane Scharf , married Christiane Altemöller (born August 25, 1970 in Aschaffenburg ), is a former German athlete who was a successful all-rounder under her maiden name in the 1980s. Her greatest success is the 5th place in the heptathlon at the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split.

Christiane Scharf's home club is the TV Kleinwallstadt. She started first for the LAZ Obernburg-Miltenberg, then for the USC Mainz and later for the LG Bayer Leverkusen. She was considered a hopeful young athlete in the all-around competition. Due to a series of injuries, she had to end her international sports career early at the age of 20.
