Christiane Watel
Christiane Watel (born April 14, 1934 ) is a former French table tennis player .
Watel won 19 titles at the French national championships , eight in singles (1951-1956, 1963, 1965), four in doubles (1951, 1955, 1956, 1960) and seven in mixed (1952-1956, 1963, 1964). So she has won the most women's singles titles to date (2009). She took part in the three world championships in 1954 , 1955 and 1957 . In 1965 she was ranked number one in the French ranking.
In March 1954 she took part in the first Franco-German international match after the Second World War in Koblenz .
She married in the late 1950s and then performed under the name Mathieu-Watel.
