Christin Ulrich

Christin Ulrich (born September 19, 1990 in Schmalkalden ) is a former German weightlifter who started in the 58 or 63 kg weight class.

Life

Christin Ulrich lived in Leimen and trained there with Thomas Faselt at the Federal Training Center. She learned weightlifting in Breitungen (Thuringia) at the age of 12. In 2004 she switched to the Jan-Amos-Comenius-Sportmittelschule in Chemnitz and successfully completed it. In 2007 she was three times European youth champion in Pavia / Italy. In October 2007 she joined the German Armed Forces as a sports soldier. Ulrich started working for ASV Ladenburg in 2009 . She is multiple German champion in different weight and age classes. Internationally, she reached fifth place in the adult division at the 2012 European Championships . With a duel of 199 kilograms, Ulrich qualified for the Olympic Games in London . Here she landed thirteen with new German records . In February 2013 she retired from competitive sports.

Her internationally significant achievements include:

  • European Championships 2007 (Seniors): 10th place in the 58 kg class in the overall ranking with 186 kg (83 kg + 103 kg)
  • European Championships 2007 (youth): three 1st places in the 63 kg class with 191 kg (85 kg + 106 kg)
  • European Championships 2008 (Seniors) : 14th place in the 63 kg class with 181 kg (81 kg + 100 kg)
  • European Championships 2008 (Juniors): 5th place in the 63 kg class with 194 kg (85 kg + 109 kg), 2nd place in pushing in the 63 kg class with 109 kg
  • World Championships 2011: 15th place in the 58 kg class with 199 kg (88 kg + 111 kg)
  • European Championships 2012 : 5th place in the 58 kg class with 203 kg (90 kg + 113 kg), 4th place in pushing in the 58 kg class with 113 kg
  • Olympic Summer Games 2012 : 13th place in the 58 kg class with 207 kg (93 kg + 114 kg), at the same time new German best performances
