Christina Gerstberger

Christina Gerstberger (* 1976 in Nuremberg ) is a German opera singer ( soprano , lyrical coloratura soubrette ).

Life

Christina Gerstberger graduated from high school in 1995, music was one of her advanced courses. In 1995 she won first prize at the Bavarian State Competition Jugend musiziert ; In 1996 she received a 2nd prize in the state competition of the DTKV in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1996 to 2000 she majored in singing at the Detmold University of Music , a. a. with Ingeborg Ruß . At the Musikhochschule Würzburg she completed a guest study in opera performance with Christel Gernot-Heindl .

In 1998 she received a 2nd prize at the Robert Saar Competition. In the same year she won first prize twice: once at the state competition in North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf and at the federal singing competition in Berlin. Also in 1998, Gerstberger received a scholarship from the Walter Kaminsky Foundation in Munich and the Hans and Eugenia Jütting Foundation from Stendal. In 2003 she was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association.

From 2000 to 2005 Gerstberger was permanently engaged as a soloist in the ensemble of the Anhaltisches Theater in Dessau . She then worked as a freelancer for two years. Guest engagements led her to a. to the Frankfurt / Main Opera, the Dortmund Theater and the Lucerne Theater. Since 2007 she has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich . There she has so far u. a. as a princess in The Man in the Moon , as Susanne in The Marriage of Figaro , as Zerlina in Fra Diavolo and in the trouser role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel .

Christina Gerstberger also works as a concert, lied and oratorio singer. With the pianist Jörg Demus , she organized a concert tour through France in 1999 and from 2002.
