Christina Schües

Christina Schües (* 1959 ) is a German philosopher and professor of philosophy at the Institute for the History of Medicine and Science Research (IMGWF) at the University of Lübeck .

Career

Christina Schües studied philosophy, political science and literature at the University of Hamburg and at Temple University in Philadelphia .

A scholarship at the “Literature and Communication Studies Graduate College” at the University of Siegen brought her back to Germany after completing her degree in philosophy. In 1993 she graduated from Temple University with a dissertation “Perceptual Changes. Five Systematic Approaches in Husserlian Phenomenology ” for Ph.D. PhD . Between 1992 and 1999 she was also a lecturer in philosophy at the universities of Lüneburg and Hamburg , among others .

In 2000, Schües began her work at the Institute for Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Vechta as a research assistant, which she continued as a research assistant and academic adviser for philosophy until 2011. In 2007 , Schües completed her habilitation in Vechta on the subject of “Philosophy of Born” , and in 2010 she was awarded the title of “Extraordinary Professor” at the same university .

Since April 2011 Schües has been researching and teaching as a professor of philosophy at the Institute for Medical History and Science Research (IMGWF) at the University of Lübeck . In addition, she has been an adjunct professor at the Institute for Cultural Theory, Cultural Research, Arts (IKKK) at Leuphana University in Lüneburg since the 2011/12 winter semester .

Christina Schües is a board member of the German Society for French-speaking Philosophy (DGFP) and the International Association of Women Philosophers (IAPh).
