Christine Milne
Christine Anne Milne AO (born May 14, 1953 in Latrobe , Tasmania ) is an Australian politician and was the leader of the Australian Greens from 2012 to 2015 .
In 1989 Milne was able to enter the state parliament of the Australian state of Tasmania . Milne has been a Senator in the Australian Senate since July 1, 2005 . In 2008 the passionate hobby gardener became deputy party leader of the Australian Greens and on April 13, 2012, after the resignation of the legendary co-founder of the party Bob Brown for personal reasons, she succeeded him in the party leadership. Her successor in the deputy was the first MP of the Green, Adam Bandt from Melbourne .
On May 6, 2015, she announced her resignation from office as party leader of the Greens and announced her withdrawal from the Senate.
