Christine Putz

Christine Putz (* 1966 ) is a former Austrian ski racer . Her short career ended in 1985 after a serious fall.

Career

After entering the Alpine Ski World Cup , Christine Putz was able to achieve her only World Cup placement on March 2, 1985 in the downhill race in Vail with a 15th place. On December 12, 1985, she had a hard fall on the World Cup downhill in Val-d'Isère . At the exit of a right-hand bend, she came too close to the safety net, was catapulted into the air and hit the slope from a great height, where she remained unconscious. After the first aid, the critically injured athlete was flown by helicopter to Grenoble hospital , where the doctors diagnosed severe head injuries and blood in the lungs. Putz awoke from his coma after 20 days , was brought from Grenoble to the hospital in Innsbruck and was only able to leave the hospital after five months. She later reported having a near-death experience immediately after her accident .

Christine Putz now runs a hotel in Bavaria and is the mother of a son. ??
