Christine Solbach

Christine Solbach (* 1966 ) is a German specialist in gynecology and obstetrics with a focus on gynecological oncology and specializes in senology . Since 2014 she has been heading the Senology Department and the Breast Center at the Frankfurt University Hospital .

Career

Christine Solbach studied human medicine in Heidelberg. After completing her specialist training (gynecology and obstetrics) at the Goethe University Hospital in Frankfurt, she worked from 2001 to 2010 as a senior physician at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University Hospital Frankfurt. In 2011 she was appointed to the first chair in senology in Germany at the University of Mainz. In 2014 she took over a professorship for "Oncological and Operative Senology" at the University Hospital in Frankfurt and has since headed the Senology department and the Breast Center there.

Special areas and treatment focuses

Christine Solbach is one of the leading breast cancer experts in Germany. She is a certified breast surgeon of the working group for aesthetic, plastic and restorative surgical procedures in gynecology eV (AWOgyn) in the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Scientific achievements

Solbach conducts research in the field of breast cancer treatment, including in the field of molecular tumor biology and the interaction between adipose tissue and breast cancer. For these research approaches, she received funding from the female professors' program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Offices and memberships

Solbach is a member of numerous specialist societies. She acts as a board member of AWOgyn and is deputy chairman of the "Working Group for Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Procedures in Gynecology eV". In 2019 she was Congress President of the German Society for Senology .
