Christian-National Working Group
The Christian National Working Group (ChrNA) was a short-term parliamentary group during the 4th parliamentary term of the Reichstag in the Weimar Republic . It was founded on December 14, 1929 and existed until the end of the electoral period when the Reichstag was dissolved on July 18, 1930.
After some of the members of the parliamentary group of the German National People's Party (DNVP) refused to follow their party chairman Alfred Hugenberg in the vote on the draft "Law against the enslavement of the German people" in connection with the referendum against the Young Plan in the Reichstag, were some leading members of this group threatened with expulsion proceedings. Thereupon a total of 12 members left the DNVP parliamentary group on December 3rd and 4th, 1929 and formed the German National Working Group . A short time later, these members of the Reichstag joined forces with the nine previously non-attached members of the Christian National Peasant and Rural People's Party to form the Christian National Working Group in order to achieve the strength of the parliamentary group (at least 15 seats). In March 1930, the former DNVP MP Wilhelm Mönke joined the parliamentary group, which now had 22 members.
The parliamentary group chairman was Hans-Erdmann von Lindeiner-Wildau .
The parliamentary group members belonged to different parties or participated in various party foundations such as the Conservative People's Party and the Christian Social People's Service .
