Christoph Dettmeier
Christoph Dettmeier (* 1966 in Cologne ) is a German sculptor , photographer and performance artist .
Life
Dettmeier studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Rebecca Horn and at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Bogomir Ecker . Trivial and popular myths, such as those from Hollywood western films, are important sources of inspiration for his films, performances, photographs and works on paper . His atmospheric landscape photographs, which are taken in industrial wastelands or in the Ruhr area, skilfully trace the vastness of the American West. He achieved greater fame with his lecture and vocal performance The Hour of the Cowboy - Country Caraoke Show . Christoph Dettmeier lives in Berlin today.
