Drum ball

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Drum or tambourine ball is the German name that was used for tamburello from around 1890 to the 1920s . During this time, which was non-return game with the tambourine -like rackets within the German Turnerschaft operated (DT) - mainly by women. For a short time there was even a German championship, which was discontinued when no more than four gymnastics circles took part. According to the DT's game rules , the participation of at least four gymnastics circles was required to hold German championships.

While in today's Tamburello a game ends with 13 points for one team, there was a fixed playing time at that time. In addition, the method of counting changed, as can be seen from the extremely different results: Initially, the number of successful net crossings of the ball was counted, and the team with the most valid rollovers went off the field as the winner; later mistakes by party A counted as points for party B.
