Christoph Frilling

Christoph Frilling (* 1952) is a German philologist and author. His subject area focuses on the sociology of technology and technology assessment, Russian intellectual history with a focus on "Alexander Herz Studies" and the history of National Socialism . He has been running a language school in Lingen / Ems and an institute for intercultural communication since 1996.

Life

Frilling studied Romance / Slavic, English, sociology / politics and history in Marburg and Münster . In 1976 he passed the master's examination at the University of Münster . 1978–1992 he was a foreign language teacher in Hopsten (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Zerbst (Saxony-Anhalt). In 1992 he founded the “Vogtland Vocational Academy” in Reichenbach im Vogtland (Saxony) and in 1996 the “Hansa Handelsschule” in Reichenbach. In 1996 he received the award from the Federal President for “exemplary integration of emigrants”. Also in 1996 he founded the “Frilling Language School” in Lingen (Lower Saxony). In 2000 he obtained his doctorate from the University of Münster while working. The topic of the dissertation was: Studies on the genesis and consequences of technology in the context of the industrial revolution using the example of the textile industry in the Saxon Vogtland. The dissertation was awarded in the same year by the rector of the University of Münster. In 2001 he received the “Hermann Schmidt Prize” from the Innovative Vocational Training Association at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BiBB). Since 2006 he has been the holder of the "European Language Seal" (together with the Institute for Theater Education at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences). Frilling also worked for many years as a lecturer at the Osnabrück / Lingen University of Applied Sciences and as an examiner at the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Osnabrück and the Osnabrück Chamber of Crafts. He also acted as an expert for foreign language exams at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Bonn.
