The Christoph Martin Wieland Foundation Biberach is a municipal foundation under civil law . The purpose of the foundation is to promote art and culture, science and research. The Wieland Museum and the Wieland Archive in Biberach are located under the umbrella of the foundation . With a diverse program of events, academic work and publications, the foundation contributes to the memory of the work and life of Christoph Martin Wieland as well as to the person and literary works of Sophie von La Roche .

The managing director is Kerstin Bönsch. Chairman of the board is Norbert Zeidler . The other board consists of Dieter Martin (University of Freiburg) and Barbara Leuchten (President of the Wieland Society). The board of directors is supported by a board of trustees of 13 members chaired by Herbert Pfender and the Wieland Science Council chaired by Dieter Martin.

The Christoph Martin Wieland Foundation in Biberach is located in the House of Archives, Waldseer Straße 31. This is also where the Wieland Archive is located - a specialist library with over 16,000 volumes on 18th century literature. The Wieland archive collects, indexes and maintains archival material that is related to the life and work of Christoph Martin Wieland . The Wieland archive also houses around 1,000 letters and manuscripts from Christoph Martin Wieland, decrees and documents as well as letters and manuscripts from contemporaries and predecessors and descendants of the poet.

The Christoph Martin Wieland Translator Prize is awarded every two years by the Circle of Friends for the Promotion of Literary and Scientific Translations. V. announced and awarded. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts is providing the prize money of 12,000 euros . The award ceremony is organized by the Christoph Martin Wieland Foundation Biberach in Wieland's hometown.
