Norbert Zeidler (born May 14, 1967 in Ellwangen ) is a German local politician and has been the Lord Mayor of Biberach an der Riss since January 7, 2013 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1986 at Peutinger-Gymnasium in Ellwangen an der Jagst , he completed his military service in the years 1987/1988 with the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Böblingen . This was followed from 1988 to 1991 with a degree in senior administration with a degree in administrative management (FH) . Zeidler found his first job from 1991 to 1995 as a consultant to the mayor of Ellwangen (Jagst), ombudsman and sports officer. He then worked as a press officer at the Baden-Württemberg State Representation at the federal government in Berlin until 1998, where he was personal advisor to Gustav Wabro (CDU), Member of the State Parliament.

Zeidler is married and has two children.

Political activity

From 1999 to 2012 he was mayor of the municipality of Remshalden . In his first election he received 60.8 percent of the votes in the first ballot . When he was re-elected, he was elected with a turnout of 40.45% with 98.8% of the vote. During his term of office, the planning of a new town hall for the community, which was opened in 2011 in Geradstetten on Hauptstraße, fell.

On September 30, 2012, the citizens of Biberach an der Riss elected him mayor in the first ballot with 70.3% of the vote and a turnout of 48.9% .
