Christoph Schnittler

Christoph Schnittler (born April 8, 1936 in Ilmenau ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

Life

After graduating from the Goethe grammar school in Ilmenau, he studied physics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 1954 to 1960 and graduated with a diploma. In 1965 he received his doctorate and in 1969 his habilitation at the Technical University of Ilmenau, where he then worked as a university lecturer for theoretical physics . In 1987 he was appointed associate professor at the Technical University of Ilmenau and in 1990 he was elected first dean of the newly founded Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Schnittler moved up to the German Bundestag on May 22, 1992 via the Thuringian state list and was a member of this until the end of the 1994 electoral term. From 1995, Schnittler resumed his professional activities as a physicist and university lecturer at the TU Ilmenau.
