Christoph Seeßelberg

Christoph Seeßelberg (* 1959 ) is a German professor of structural engineering and steel construction and was President of the TH Köln, which has since been renamed, from October 1, 2012 to August 31, 2015 .

Life, education and career

Seeßelberg was born in Mönchengladbach on the Lower Rhine and grew up there. He studied structural engineering directly after graduating from high school from 1978 to 1981 at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . He then did his doctorate in steel construction at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule , Aachen, and then took on tasks with the Bundeswehr and the Dornier aircraft yard . In 1995, Seeßelberg accepted a professorship for structural engineering and steel construction at the Munich University of Applied Sciences . From 2007 to 2009 he was Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering there. In 2009 he became Vice President of the Munich University of Applied Sciences. In 2012 he was elected President of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. In August 2013 Seeßelberg was appointed to the new board (from September 1, 2013) of the State Rectors' Conference of the Universities of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia for the first time. V. appointed. On August 31, 2015, he resigned as President of the FH for personal reasons.

Seeßelberg is married and has four children, three of whom are already studying.

Work areas

Seeßelberg is known for his publications on crane tracks. Furthermore, he works and teaches the statics of supporting structures and lightweight construction technology.
