Christoph Walter (born June 29, 1967 in Glarus ) is a Swiss military musician , composer and conductor .
Life

Walter studied at the Zurich University of Music and graduated in 1989 with a teaching diploma for trumpet . From 1991 to 1997 he worked as a musical instructor for the recruitment games in Bern, Zurich, St. Gallen and Aarau.
He headed the Swiss Army Concert Band at the Swiss Army Game from 1999 to 2005, which he also conducted from 2000.
Walter achieved the rank of major and heads the cadre school at the Military Music Competence Center in Aarau .
He also arranges, conducts and composes in addition to his main occupation, brass bands for popular music. Worth mentioning here are, for example, the Lucerne Concert Band and the Christoph Walter Orchestra . With the latter, he had a hit in 2019 with Schwingerlüüt in Schwizerland , the anthem for the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug.
