The meta-theme of traces is at the center of Christophe Ndabananiye's work. Traces from the past and memories are examined, rediscovered over and over again, and brought back to life and visible in the present. The traces are seen primarily in the historical context, whereby these can be thoughts, ideas, objects, feelings or concrete experiences. In the constant search of yesterday, Ndabananiye uses different materials and media, paints mainly with boat varnish and acrylic, but the photo and video camera is also a constant companion.
