Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi

Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi (born January 21, 1945 in Techiman ) is a Ghanaian university professor and politician. In the administration of President John Agyekum Kufuor , he is Minister for Ports & Railways.

Ameyaw-Akumfi attended Adisadel College in Cape Coast between 1959 and 1965 , where he obtained his GCE A-Level certificate. He enrolled at the University of Ghana in Legon, a district of Accra , in 1965 and did his Bachelor and Master in Science . At the University of Ghana he began his work as a lecturer in the position of a teaching assistant in 1968. In 1972 he moved to the University of Michigan in the USA, where he completed his master's degree in zoology. Between 1972 and 1979 he was a lecturer in zoology at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. From 1992 he taught here as a professor of zoology.

Ameyaw-Akumfi has published various publications in the field of biology. Furthermore, his academic work has been recognized by awards and honors.
