Chrysopeleia
The tree nymph Chrysopeleia ( Greek Χρυσοπέλεια ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
When a torrent threatened to tear away the oak in which she lived, the son of Zeus Arkas came to her aid. He diverted the water without further ado and protected the tree with a dam. In gratitude she gave herself to the hero and bore him the sons Elatos and Apheides .
However, other sources name Leaneira or Meganeira as the mother of those Arcadian descendants of Arkas.
