The 2017 International Opera Awards marked the fifth edition of the International Opera Awards , launched by Harry Hyman, a British businessman and philanthropist, and John Allison , editor of the British trade magazine Opera .

The winners were announced on May 7, 2017 at a ceremony in the London Coliseum . The music was designed by Stuart Skelton , Anita Ratschwelischwili , Stéphanie d'Oustrac , Louise Alder , Bryan Hymel , Lauren Fagan and Rhian Lois .
