International Opera Awards 2020

The International Opera Awards 2020 are the eighth presentation of the International Opera Awards . The nominations were announced on February 5, 2020; the award ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on May 4, 2020 at Sadler's Wells Theater in London . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the award ceremony in March 2020 was postponed to September 21, 2020. Another postponement took place in August 2020, this time for an indefinite period.

With the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (categories education and effect , new production and world premiere ) and the Teatro Real (categories opera house , orchestra and world premiere ), two opera houses were nominated in three categories each.
