Lizzie Clachan

Lizzie Clachan is a British stage and costume designer . In 1999 she was one of the co-founders of the artist collective Shunt .

Life

The London artist collective Shunt , co-founded by Clachan, designs performances at unusual venues. Clachan was previously responsible for the set design for all of Shunt's productions.

Since 2005 the artist has also been invited by established British theater institutions, including a. from the Royal Court Theater and the Royal Shakespeare Company , the National Theater , the London Young Vic and the Bristol Old Vic . She works mainly for contemporary pieces, but occasionally also for Elizabethian classics - such as Marlowe's Edward II directed by Joe Hill-Gibbons, or modern classics - such as Beckett's Happy Days .

Clachan has worked closely with British director Katie Mitchell since 2011 . This cooperation has so far taken her to Cologne, Berlin and Avignon, to the Burgtheater in Vienna and to the Salzburg Festival .
