Shigekazu Wakisaka (born April 1, 1975 in Nara Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing car driver and the younger brother of Juichi Wakisaka .

Career

Shigekazu Wakisaka began his career in the Japanese Formula 3 championship , where he reached fourth championship rank after finishing fifth in 1996 the following year. The switch to Formula Nippon failed. After three unsuccessful seasons in 1998 , 1999 and 2000 , he turned to GT and sports car racing .

GT and sports cars

He primarily drove in the Super GT and the Asian Le Mans Series . He achieved his first overall victory at the Suzuka 1000 km race in 2001 , as a team partner of Hironori Takeuchi and Yūji Tachikawa in the Toyota Supra . The following year he won the endurance race again. This time with brother Juichi and Akira Iida in the Toyota Supra JZA80. His best place in a championship was third overall in the 2004 JGTC All-Star .
