Edward John Lessimore (born January 20, 1881 in Bristol , † March 7, 1960 ibid) was a British marksman and officer .

successes

Edward Lessimore took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in three disciplines with the small bore rifle. On the vanishing target, he finished twelfth, while he just missed a medal in fourth in the prone position. In the team competition in the prone position, the British prevailed with 762 points against the remaining five teams and were Olympic champions ahead of the Swedes and the Americans . Lessimore was with 193 points the second best shooter of the team, which also included William Pimm , Robert Murray and Joseph Pepé .

Lessimore was an entrepreneur in the furniture industry. He also served for over 20 years in the 4th Gloucestershire Regiment of the British Army , where he rose to captain .
