William Milne (born March 23, 1852 in Aberdeen , Scotland , † unknown) was a British marksman .

William Milne took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London and 1912 in Stockholm with the small-bore rifle in three disciplines participate. In 1908 he was ranked 14th in the recumbent position, seventh on the moving target and fourth on the disappearing target. In the latter competition he was one of eight shooters who had achieved the best score with 45 points. After evaluating the goals, however, he missed a place in the medal ranks. Four years later, he did not get past 22nd place in this competition, while he won his first medal with silver while lying down. With 193 points he was only one point behind Frederick Hird , who was Olympic champion ahead of Milne and Harry Burt . He also won the silver medal in the team competition for the vanishing goal. Together with William Pimm , Joseph Pepé and William Styles , he finished the competition behind the Swedish and in front of the US team in second place. He achieved the third-best result of the British shooters with 226 points.
