William Kensett Styles (born October 11, 1874 in London , † April 8, 1940 in Seaford ) was a British marksman .
successes
William Styles participated in the 1908 Olympic Games in London and 1912 in Stockholm with the small-bore rifle part. In 1908 he was one of eight shooters competing for the vanishing target who had achieved the best score with 45 points. After evaluating the goals, he was declared Olympic champion ahead of Harold Hawkins and Edward Amoore . He finished the competition on the moving target in ninth place. For four years he won the silver medal in the team competition for the vanishing goal after he and his father-in-law William Pimm , Joseph Pepé and William Milne had finished the competition behind the Swedish and in front of the US team in second place. He achieved the weakest result of the British shooters with 219 points. In the individual competition he did not get beyond 13th place, in the lying position he only managed 27th place.
