Harold Ingleby Hawkins (born July 22, 1886 in London , † June 16, 1917 in Arras , France ) was a British marksman .
successes
Harold Hawkins took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London in part in four disciplines. In the team competition with the free rifle, he took sixth place. He contested the three remaining competitions individually with the small-bore rifle. In the horizontal position he reached the eighth place, the competition for the moving target he finished in 19th place. Far more successful for Hawkins was the competition towards the vanishing goal, in which he, like seven other competitors, achieved the best value of 45 points. After evaluating the goals, William Styles was declared Olympic champion , while Hawkins was ranked second and thus won the silver medal.
He served with the Royal Fusiliers . In the First World War Hawkins, who fell to the rank of captain held in 1917, in Arras .
