Chrysorithrum amata is a butterfly found in East Asia( moth ) fromthe owl butterfly family (Noctuidae).

The wingspan of the moth is 64 to 67 millimeters. Your forewing upper side shows dark gray-brown or reddish brown tones. Both the basal and the post-disk region are colored black-brown and bordered by partially jagged transverse lines. The disk region is always slightly brightened and shows a point-like black diskoid spot . The upper side of the hind wing is brown in color and has a wide yellow band running through it. The hem area is sometimes lightened. The underside of the wings is light brown to reddish brown and shows a clearly darkened discal region of the forewings, which ends shortly before the front edge .
Similar species
The moths of Chrysorithrum flavomaculata and Chrysorithrum duda differ primarily in the darker discal region on the upper side of the fore wing and the wider yellow band on the upper side of the hind wing.
distribution and habitat
The range of Chrysorithrum amata extends from northeast Russia and China to Japan and Korea .
Way of life
The nocturnal, univoltine moths can be found between May and July. You visit artificial light sources . The caterpillars feed on the leaves of legumes (Fabaceae). Details on the species' way of life have yet to be researched.
