Cichus is an impact crater in the southwest of the lunar front , on the eastern edge of the Palus Epidemiarum , east of the Capuanus crater and southwest of Weiss . The moderately eroded crater has concentric structures inside.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian poet, doctor and astronomer Cecco d'Ascoli .
