The band was formed in 2008 in El Paso , Texas . In 2015 they had their first successes on social networks . In 2012 they released their EP I. In 2015 the band released their first single Affection . In 2017 the band released their first album, Cigarettes After Sex .
“A lot of our songs are autobiographical, and the name isn't an exception. I had this friends-with-privileges thing with this girl and she would always smoke after we were together. I never really tried it until she showed it to me. We were just together one night smoking and the name flashed in my mind. It was literally just what we were doing at that moment. "
