Cilia van Dijk , b. Cilia van Lieshout , (born November 22, 1941 in Uden ) is a Dutch film producer .

Life

Cilia van Lieshout grew up in Uden. In 1963 she married the animated film maker Gerrit van Dijk (1938–2012) , who was also from Uden . The couple has a son (* 1966) and a daughter (* 1968). In 1978 she became a member of the Holland Animation Association, of which she was a member until 1989.

Van Dijk began working as a film producer in the 1960s. In 1978 she founded the film production company Animated People, which became the Netherlands Institute for Animated Film in 1993. In addition to works by her husband, such as the twelve-part short animation film series Jute , she has produced short animation films by Piet Kon ( DaDa ) and Sjaak Meilink ( Stiltwalkers ), among others . Her greatest international success as a producer was Anna & Bella from Børge Ring in 1984 , for which she received an Oscar in 1986 .

In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
