Cinnamon girl

Cinnamon Girl (Eng. " Cinnamon Girl ") is a rock song by Neil Young , which he first released in 1969 on the album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere . It is one of his most famous pieces and has often been covered. The song, which was released as a single, reached number 55 on the American Billboard Hot 100 in 1970 .

Young is believed to have written Cinnamon Girl with Cowgirl in the Sand and Down by the River while lying in bed with the flu at home in Topanga .

The song is about a musician who waits for his girl between performances.

Cover versions

A first cover version comes from The Gentrys , it reached number 52 on the Billboard 200 . In 1971, John Entwistle recorded for his first solo album Smash Your Head Against the Wall . In 1996 Type O Negative played the song on October Rust . The piece is also included on the live DVD Symphony for the Devil, which was recorded at the 1999 Bizarre Festival . The Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead also played the title.
