Circle song

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A circle song or circle song means a musical work that is created through circleinging , that is, a cappella singing in "endless loops" or loops of short musical phrases.

Vocal groups like the Vocal Summit have developed this form since the 1980s. For the first time in 1997, Bobby McFerrin and a twelve-person vocal ensemble presented an entire album with eight such circle songs . McFerrin also improvised there using the circular structure that had been created.
