The Circus Balloni is a circus based in Sirnach in the Swiss canton of Thurgau . There is the winter camp and the “Villa Balloni” base operated by an association, which is also used for events.

history

Balloni was founded in 1988 by Lucas "Pepe" Cadonau and Jürg Bläuer, the first tour followed in 1996. Until 2003 the company was domiciled in Wil .

In 1998, a report in the Swiss television news magazine 10vor10 raised awareness of a lawsuit brought against Balloni by the Cirque du Soleil . Balloni had fooled its production under the name Allergia , which ran under the name Alegría that same year . From 1999 to 2004 Balloni toured with a large tent in the summer.

In 2005 and 2006 the circus was limited to longer guest appearances in a few locations. Tent rentals, year-round clown appearances at events with variety character, circus animation in schools, holiday programs and at parents' associations, along with curative education, formed the business basis. The NZZ described the activities in 2006 as a "funny and shrill troupe with a delicious mix of artistry, cabaret and comedy."
