General

The tent of the Circus Bely

The company was founded by Philipp Frank around 1800. The current owner is Stefan Frank-Bely, together with the junior boss Harry Frank-Bely. The company employs around ten people, including seven family members. From March to November each year the circus visits around 30 cities. For the rest of the time, the circus will move into winter quarters in Rastatt . The circus tent is a large four-mast tent, which accordingly offers plenty of space for visitors. In 1989 the artist Nanja Lajana was awarded the Golden Elephant for her performance at the international circus competition in Wiesbaden . Stefan Frank received the Golden Oscar at the international circus festival in Paris and Neyenne Luejeanna also received several awards for her performance of contortion .

In 2013, the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy published a documentary about Neyenne Luejeanna with the title “Zirkuskind”. In the same year, Circus Bely played the small traveling circus “Burani” in the crime scene episodeCircus Child”.

Attractions

Every year in the winter break, both artists and their animals study new numbers. Renowned main numbers are retained, however, such as the sulky jump, which is unique in Europe , the performances of the Frisians and dogs, and the floor acrobatics .

Animals

The circus has a total of around 100 animals, including zebras , camels , horses , pot-bellied pigs , cows , geese , dogs and chickens and has the largest herd of camels in Germany. In addition, the circus owns a white Siberian steppe camel, of which there are only 18 copies left in Germany. Since the animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and also have enough space available, the company was recognized for its animal husbandry and accordingly received good notes in the animal inventory book.
