Ciro Pirondi

Ciro Felice Pirondi (* 1956 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian architect and university professor.

Life

Ciro Pirondi has been a supporter of the renewal movement in São Paulo since his youth . He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Braz Cubas Universidade in São Paulo in the early 1980s. After completing his doctorate at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona , he studied at the Università IUAV di Venezia . He then opened his own studio in São Paulo. Pirondi was President of the Brazilian Architectural Institute from 1992 to 1994.

Ciro Pirondi was the initiator and co-founder of Escola da Cidade em São Paulo , one of the most renowned architecture schools in São Paulo, and is its director.

He is committed to issues such as the development of urban sprawl in São Paulo. Together with Oscar Niemeyer, Pirondi renovated the Edifício Copan in the 1990s, the largest residential high-rise in the world with over 5000 inhabitants.
