Cirrus (zoology)
Cirrus (plural cirrus ) comes from Latin and means curl or fringe there .
Cirrus (less common spelling: cirrus ) refers to different body appendages of different animals, including:
- Movement of organelles of ciliates (ciliates)
- the tendril- shaped extremities of the barnacles (Cirripedia)
- the appendages of polychaete (Polychaeta): scale-like (then referred to as elytra) or filiform
- the copulatory organs of different animal groups, for example flatworms and rotifers
- the "arms" ( tentacles ) in pearl boats
- the barbels of fish , sometimes referred to by the scientific name, such as the three- bearded sea burbot ( Onos tricirratus )
