City boy

City Boy was a British rock band . It existed from 1975 to 1982.

Career

Her biggest hit was the single 5.7.0.5. from the album Book Early , made it to # 8 in the UK charts in 1978. The song was originally released as a single with a different text under the title Turn On to Jesus , including in Germany, but not officially in Great Britain. 5.7.0.5. had no chart success in the Netherlands, but Turn On to Jesus was able to place in the Tipparade for four weeks .

Guitarist Mike Slamer later worked with members of the American band Kansas under the name of Streets . The first four City Boy albums were produced by Mutt Lange , who later enjoyed worldwide success as a producer. He produced AC / DC , Def Leppard and Bryan Adams , among others . Lead singer Laurence "Lol" Mason had further chart successes in 1982 with The Maisonettes . Mason died on July 30, 2019. Roy Ward, who had replaced Roger Kent on drums, was - also in 1982 - the lead singer of a session band whose recording of The Lion Sleeps Tonight under the band name Tight Fit was a number one hit in the British charts has been. Guitarist and singer Steve Broughton left City Boy in 1979 after the fifth album to play again in his brother Edgar's band .
